I have to double up with a regular diaper and then the swim diaper in case there's more than a wet one there, if not there would be a poopy mess everywhere. I've tried non-disposable (washable) swim diapers and it's been a disaster (i. e. both me and the baby are soaked in pee before we can even get to the water). These at least hold the pee with minimal leaks (although, who can tell once they're wet?).
