I have been using the Gro Baby system excusively for 1 month now, and I love them! I am currently using them on my 24 month old son, and I have a baby on the way that will also use them when she is out of the newborn stage. Right now I have all aplix version except for 3 vanilla snap which I actually got sent by mistake. I ordered the Live Gro Baby package from a cloth diapering website, and that is more than enough to diaper my son full time and wash every 2 days. You do have to be really careful to correctly fasten the aplix to the laundry tabs when washing. I have not had any diaper chains yet. I do hang my shells to dry. I put them in the dryer for the first week I was using them, but then read that it extends the life if you hang them. I have a small rack in my laundry room that I hang them on, and they are usually dry in 2-3 hours. I put a clean, dry towel in the dryer along with the boosters and soakers and dry on medium heat. I do usually have to run them through an extra damp dry cycle. All in all I’d say they take about 1 1/2 hours to dry completly. That is so much less time they the hemp inserts I have for some pocket diapers. Some of my soakers have shrunk about an inch, but I did read that is normal. The soakers fit in the shells really well, but I can see that the would stick out on the smallest setting. My son is 24 months, and weighs 28lbs. He is on the largest setting and they fit him so nicely with room to grow. I really like the aplix a lot better than the snap. No matter how I adjust the snap version he gets red marks, but does not get any with the aplix version. I even use these overnight with a booster in and I’ve never had a leak! I’ve only ever used one other type of cloth diaper, which I hated. These Gro Baby diapers are so great and I’m glad I went with them. I have 2 of the prints for my baby girl on the way, and they are so adorable! These diapers are very trim and clothes fit over them great, even jeans! The price is a bit scary up front, but they are worth it and you will save so much in the long run by not having to buy trash pants. I am not planning on using these during the newborn stage because I think they would be bulky on a newborn, but for an older baby or toddler they are wonderful.

I have three diapers. Two velcro and one snap. I definitely prefer the snap as it washes better. Vecro has tendency to wear fast in washer. Even though I don’t put in dryer. Very trim fit, less bulky than other diapers, but DS poops also have a tendency to get on the shell in addition to the soaker, so I often don’t get to switch out the soaker and reuse the shell. Defeats the purpose. But I want more anyway as no cloth diaper is without its issues. Just really expensive so I have to save up.

What I like about this diaper is that it’s trimmer than the others I have. The rise is lower, too, which helps in fitting into clothes. After having it for about a month or two the tabs do start to curl out. I never put it in the dryer and I leave it attached as if it were on baby. The inserts take a little longer to dry but that’s not a problem for me. I also like that you can use it with a biodegradable insert!

I have used Grobaby’s with my two year old and 2 month old. I only have one shell, but love the system. I would like to get more. The Grobaby’s seem comfortable and have a great fit. I don’t like that the velcro tabs rarely stay stuck in the laundry and usually end up stuck to the inside of the diaper. Also, I would love to see a newborn snap in insert. I have just started to use the Grobaby’s with my newborn, but the inserts are so big it looks a little silly.

I was a total cloth diaper skeptic, but after trying these, I’m a believer. The fit has been really great (when we started she was a skinny 13 pound 5 month old, and is now a hunky 18 pound 9 month old). No leaks after 4+ months of use. I love that the liners snap in – hated the pocket idea b/c it seemed like the shells were still soaked with urine – the snap-in completely eliminates that. They wash beautifully, and are darned cute to boot. We are even 100% cloth diaperers now – even when we’re out!
